Google seen as most reputable company in U.S.

American consumers had the most faith in software giant Google according to the annual Reputation Report from Harris Interactive that was just released on May 2, 2011.

The survey found that overall American consumer confidence is on the rise with 18 companies receiving a significantly increased score and a record 16 companies scoring over 80 points – or excellent.’

Scores are broken into rankings – 80+ being excellent, 75-80 very good, 70-75 good and 65-70 fair.

  • 1st place went to Google with a score of 84.05
  • 2nd place went to Johnson & Johnson with a score of 83.13
  • 3rd place went to 3m company with a score of 82.56

The survey, polled 30,000 members of the American public on the corporate reputations of the 60 most visible companies in the USA.

An interesting find within the survey is that overall reputation rankings of all industry are up from last year as companies start to see the benefits to online reputation management.
